Infrared heats the body rather than the air, and therefore does not cause the room to get exceptionally hot. An infrared room will generally not exceed 60 degrees above the ambient temperature surrounding the room. The purpose of infrared is to provide heat stimulation to specific parts of the body. Sore joints and aching muscles are relieved through the deep tissue stimulation of infrared heat while leaving the room relatively comfortable to the user.
