NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Happy New Year!

It’s been almost a month since the New Year began and if you’re anything like me, you started out strong on your New Year’s resolution. You went to the gym, you made smoothies for breakfast, you wrote a letter once a week connecting with an old friend, whatever your resolution, you were feeling good. Then life got busy, weeks got shorter, and your resolution began to dwindle. If this is the case for you, Almost Heaven Saunas is here to help you get back on track by offering five practical ways to enhance your sauna experience:

1. Add Essential Oils

Start using essential oils. Almost Heaven Saunas is currently offering eight natural essential oil scents. These oils come in a box set or individually and are perfect for getting started. The scents we offer are pine, ylang ylang, lavender, cedarwood, frankincense, eucalyptus, peppermint, and lemon oil. Each of these oils have a lovely scent and unique healing properties:

Pine: Helps reduce inflammation, boosts the immune system, and relieves pain and stress

Mix and match. Add a few drops of oil to your bucket of water and fill your sauna with these mood boosting, body relaxing, and mind clearing scents.

2. Turn up the heat- Sauna Workouts

Try working out in your sauna. Do a few squats, push-ups, downward dogs. Even lightly stretching your body in the high heat of a sauna is beneficial, releasing the lactic acid in your muscles. Calories are burned in a sauna just by sitting, but think about how many more could be burned by adding a little activity. Remember to always stay hydrated and take breaks!

3. Family Sauna Night

Spend more quality time with family and friends by having a sauna night. No phones, no Netflix, just meaningful conversation in the warmth and comfort of your own sauna.

4. Get Better Sleep

Saunas help you relax, to let go of the stress of the day, and to be fully present to how the body is feeling. The sauna helps to release endorphins creating an atmosphere that is calming. This sense of calm and relaxation has helped sauna users overcome insomnia and sleep better at night. Think about how much more productive you’d be if you had a quality nights sleep? A few drops of lavender essential oil can also help prepare for a good night's sleep.

5. Be Consistent

I know what you’re thinking, this post is supposed to help me be more consistent. The truth is, the more you sauna, the better you feel. We promise that the benefits of using your sauna will trickle out into every other aspect of life.
