Hemfir is lighter in color with small tight knots that give its rustic appearance. Rustic Fir is our most popular lumber for indoor saunas and is also ideal for exterior applications. The exterior of the sauna can be left natural or stained or painted as desired. This lumber is sourced from North America.

Timeless Barrel Sauna Design
We first started making our signature Barrel Sauna nearly 40 years ago, and it’s become a popular option on our product line ever since. The Barrel Sauna is assembled using a ball-and-socket profile held in place by stainless steel bands and minimal fasteners, the significance of this configuration being that it maintains a reliable seal while allowing the lumber to expand and contract. The entire unit is mounted on polymer support cradles that loft the undercarriage of the sauna and keep it from coming in direct contact with any moisture on the ground.
Build the Pinnacle
The simple grace of a barrel-shaped sauna is found in its ball-and-socket profile, held in place by sturdy stainless-steel bands and minimal fasteners. This arrangement allows the lumber staves to expand and contract to form a tight seal, and the unit sits on polymer support cradles that lift the sauna undercarriage off the ground. The Classic Barrel Sauna is an expressive take on our Classic Barrel Sauna – a design noted for its efficiency, even distribution of heat, and visual appeal. By taking the front round section and setting it back into the sauna, we’ve created a visually appealing and useful outside sitting area – a place to hold towels or drinks or to serve as a relaxing place to cool off between sauna rounds.

Waiting on electrical still. Otherwise went together ok. A good number of the boards aren’t straight but you include a bunch of extra. I’m missing the door handle and waiting for a reply from sales@, it’s been 9 days
We love our Almost Heaven 4 person barrel sauna! It was easy to assemble with outstanding instructions. We have had it a month now and use it almost everyday. It was a bit of a wait though, as the first delivery was in shambles... i think it fell off the truck and they just put it all in a pile and delivered it missing the heater and broken stays, etc.(no fault of Almost Heaven). The second delivery was perfect.
I ordered my kit from Costco. It was delivered in good condition. A handful of my staves were warped, but with the extra staves sent and the fillers I was able to properly assemble my sauna. When assembling my benches one of the pre drilled holes on the upright was in a knot. This of course split when I tightened the screw (pictured below). This obviously doesn’t stop my sauna from working but it is a manufacturer defect and after spending money and time I want things to look nice. Weeks ago I spoke with someone in the warranty department. Emails and pictures were sent. I have herd nothing back. Additionally the assembly instructions talk about plugs for the drain holes being included and I did not receive any. Again I have heard nothing back. Many of the Costco reviews are similar. If you need anything to be warrantied it seems you just left on “read”. Very unfortunate considering this is a great product otherwise.
Absolutely great product. Well manufactured and a breeze to assemble due to the quality - it was actually enjoyable to build. I had taken time to research and investigate other providers of barrel saunas. After the fact, I'm very happy that I selected Almost Heaven.
I love the video on building the sauna but I can’t find any videos on where the power comes into the sauna for the heating unit or the LED lighting.
